Hi,
Is it possible James Ryan Sims and wife Annie are both buried in Lost Prong Cemetery, Louise, Wharton co. Tx.
According to info on the LDS site they are and Bettie Newman is also buried there.
Don’t know if the info is correct as they have James married to Eliza Coward before 1888, Annie Dierlam before 1890 and Bettie Newman 12 Aug 1903.
The LDS site and Ancestry.com both have information about this family.
Today I talked to a woman who married a Dierlam. She told me there is a relative who has been researching for many years and has lots of information. She is going to find out if she will share.

Have you read “Seadrift Memories”?
I says
Fay Etta Morgenroth was born April 3, 1907 in Waxahacie, Texas. The family moved to Seadrift in 1912. Her father ran a feed store. The name of the store was “Jones Feed Store”. Their old home still stands and belongs to Dora Hall now. Her dad had a 145 acre farm, located in the Grisshom area.
“Seadrift Memories ” was written in 1986

I have a birth certificate for Needham Dierlam (my great grandfather) showing parents John Dierlam and Kate Coward, and stating John Dierlam served in the Civil War. The info I have for Kate says she was born 1848 in Calcasieu Parish Louisiana, and died in Seadrift. Her great-grandfather was Needham Dierlam, a Revolutionary War Patriot recognized by the DAR.
George and Mary Dierlam and family came to Indianola from Germany 1848. They’re on the 1850 census of Calhoun County as “Delam.”
I’d love to compare notes with anyone researching this line. Please contact me

George Dierlam, born 8 Mar 1808, in Metz (Nietz) Germany, died 10 Oct 1851 in Seadrift, Calhoun, TX. He was married to Anna Maria Schneider, born 17 April 1816 in Darmstdadt, Germany, died 15 Sept 1862 in Seadrift. He immigrated from Darmstadt, Vadenrod, a branch of the parish of Hopfgarten in Hesse, Germany. They came to America in 1848 so George could escape military training. They landed in New York cir 1848.
Their children were
Christian T. Dierlam, 6 July 1841(Germany) - 25 Dec 1920 in Seadrift. He was married 3 times - to Frances Esther Ahlert, Elizabeth Williams, and Florence Davis.
Johannes C. Dierlam, 10 Oct 1844 (Darmstadt, Germany) - 8 Dec 1924 in Seadrift. He was married to Catherine Coward, born 1848, d/o Needham William and Elizabeth Ann Perkins. Catherine was one of 10 children. Her brother, Needham Coward, married Augusta Cora Dierlam.
Wilhelm (William) Dierlam, born 2 Jan 1847 Germany, died in 1854 in Seadrift. If I remember right, he was gored by a bull.
When they were coming over on the ship to America, there was another child that died. It was either a twin to Wilhelm or a younger sibling.
Augusta Cora Dierlam - born 10 July 1850 in Seadrift, died 6 Nov 1910 in Seadrift. She married Needham Coward.
Mary Dierlam, born 1852, died in 1928. She married Thomas Decro Jordan.
My grandmother was Gertrude Coward, d/o
George L Coward, s/o
Allen Nelvil Coward and Henrietta Francis Dierlam, whose parents were Needham William Coward and Elizabeth Ann Perkins, and Christian T. Dierlam and Frances Esther Ahlert, respectively.
My grandmother had the Dierlam family Bible, but it burned in a fire in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s.

I have written copies of information I had on floppy disk (back before CD’s were popular) but the disk has evaporated. I have information on the Dierlams back into Germany in 1702, with one of the family lines back to 1610. I also have a picture of John Dierlam and Katherine Coward taken about 1908, and picutres of Annie Maria Dierlam Sims as a young woman, John Coward Dierlam as a young man, Alice Elizabeth (Dolly) Dierlam Roemer as a young woman, Joseph “Bud” Dierlam as a young man, Addison Dierlam as a youngish man, a picture of Bud, Dolly, Needham, and Lillie in their older years, and Lillie among her husbands family about 1912.
I have visited family graves in the Bindewald Cemetery in Seadrift (graves of George and Mary Dierlam, the immigrants) and I paid to have those stones preserved. I also have some pictures from the Steinburg cemetery off Dierlam Street with some of the family buried there. John and Katherine are buried there but their graves are not marked.
I have a copy of the birth certificate for John Dierlam (1844)
I also have the Coward/Cowart line back to the immigrant ancestor James Coward and his son William (1691/1698 - 1728).
I will be glad to share what information I have. I wrote this all up in 1993 and have it only in written form which takes a whole notebook. I may try to get it scanned, but that has not been done yet.
