Dierlams from Vadenrod, Hesse, Germany

I received email today from one of the last four farmers in Vadenrod, Germany. Vadenrod celebrated its 750 year anniversary in 2001. The history book names the Dierlam family who came to Texas in 1848!

Hello, I was surfing across the internet and ran across your postings.
My father and I travelled to Vadenrod and Dirlammen last summer. We
meet a Mr. Heinrich Wahl who was the gentleman that wrote the book
on the history of Vadenrod. I have a copy of the book. It is all in German
and I have been working to get parts of the book translated. It lists
Dierlam’s going back all the way into the 14 and 1500s including the names
of those that fought in the Napoleonic Wars. It does list Georg and Maria
Dierlam in the book. I have been to the grave of Georg and Maria who are buried
in Seadrife near where the Victoria Barge Canal empties into the bay. I am
originally from Victoria. I too am a descended of Georg and Maria….

Bryan, it’s wonderful to meet you, cousin! What a wonderful trip!

    Cool Site!

I live in Anchorage Alaska. I’m the son of Jesse Howell Dierlam, Jr. who died 11/5/06.
Would love to hear more about our family.

    Thanks,
