Her father, Col. H. C. Fraser (Chaplain U.S. Army), was stationed at Ft. Andrews, Boston Harbor. Ruth Cloudt grew up following her family all over the globe. She spent two years at Duke University, Durham, N.C., and graduated from the Washington School for Secretaries, Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Cloudt's parents are both buried in the Chaplain's Section at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. ^6,36
